2022 GMC Hummer EV
Exterior Dimensions
Performance targets, estimates and capability specifications based on computer-aided analysis and simulation using virtual engineering tools. Estimates may vary depending on model and trim. Actual production model and results may vary.
The GMC Hummer EV pickup has a wheelbase of 135.6 inches and a total length of 216.8 inches. This makes it shorter length-wise than a, GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab Short Box, which has a wheelbase of 147.4 inches and overall length 231.7 inches.
While the Hummer EV pickup isn’t quite as long as a light-duty Crew Cab pickup, it’s notably wider. A GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab Short Box is 81.2 inches wide (not including the side mirrors) and GMC Hummer EV SUT is 86.7 inches wide without the side mirrors.
The Hummer EV pickup’s ground clearance with the regular suspension setting activated is 10.1 inches, far outclassing the 7.8-inch maximum ground clearance of the Sierra 1500. With Terrain Mode activated, the Hummer’s ground clearance grows to a significant 11.9 inches. Models equipped with the optional Extract Mode setting, which lifts the suspension by up to eight inches when activated, have a maximum ground clearance of 15.9 inches. The truck’s approach, departure, breakover and climbing angles also grow significantly when Terrain Mode and Extract Mode are activated.
The 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup is shorter than a full-size light-duty pickup and is also stubbier than the GMC Canyon Crew Cab midsize truck as well. However, the pickup is significantly wider than either the Sierra or Canyon, contributing to its off-road prowess. Customers looking to haul wood or other large items may appreciate the additional bed space offered by something like a Sierra, but the GMC Hummer EV sets itself apart with its wide-set macho stance and go-anywhere capability – in addition to its innovative electric powertrain, of course.
